About Weems & Plath

Weems & Plath has been around since 1928 making precision marine instruments which have become very popular for nautical home decor. Carl Plath started making a few nautical instruments in Hamburg Germany in 1837. He continued expanding his line of nautical instruments, his son Theodor joined his father who quickly upgraded the machining equipment and started producing the finest in nautical instruments and high praise came to the C-Plath company. 

In 1930 Theodor's son-in-law joined the company and quickly expanded the company to over 400 employees. During the tumultuous years of WWII the company survived and in 1953 joined togther with Capt. Weems to sell nautical gifts and instruments in the United States, hence the name "Weems & Plath" Over 165 years since Carl Plath started making high precision nautical instruments, Weems & Plath still has the superb reputation as the finest in nautical products.
