About Mill Creek Studios

When the artists at Mill Creek Studios has an idea or art concept, they either sketch it out or make a three dimensional "sketch" out of clay. A basic concept is created out of clay establishing the direction this sculpture will take. Any Mill Creek Studios' sculpture will take from a few weeks to many months.

Once the clay sculpture is completed, skilled mold makers makes a perfect flexible "rubberized" mold of the clay art capturing every minute detail. The Master mold is then used to create production molds for the edition castings. These editions are composed of a mix and blend of fine resins, pure white alabaster or alabaster and porcelain powders. When poured into the mold, a chemical reaction takes place expanding the compound into ever crevice showing every detail of the sculpture. Once cooled the piece is an exact duplicate of the original.

Once the casting is completed, each piece is closely examined and is cleaned and ready for the artisans to apply the layer upon layer of artist acrylics making a beautiful finish to every piece and bringing out every detail in a life like piece.
