About G. DeDrekht - Derevo Collection

The Derevo Collection of Russian figurines starts with a concept from Andre Gabricht and the artists of G. DeBrekht studios. The artists review designs at the Russian studio only picking those that they would like to own themselves. Once the designs are picked each one moves methodically from one art village to the next with each gifted artisan putting their talents into carving, molding and painting each piece. Talented wood carvers, painters and illustrators take each piece to create a Russian figurine piece.

Each Russian figurine is first hand cast to match exactly the original designs down to every detail. A group of highly talented artisans - each trained in the Russian painting and decoration techniques copy the original with great care. Many of these techniques date back centuries and because the process from each piece takes so much time the Russian figurines are limited to 1200 to 1500 pieces that may take over two years to complete!
